humans.txt

humans.txt is, I suspect, a joke. If so, it’s a pretty good one – a mildly clever play on robots.txt. When I first learned of it I smiled.

If I’m right – if it is a joke – the jokers are going to some lengths to conceal that fact, having launched a fairly professional-looking website to explain in multiple languages …

It’s an initiative for knowing the people behind a website. It’s a TXT file that contains information about the different people who have contributed to building the website.

OK, fair enough. But an ‘about’ page could do the same thing much more effectively. So, ya, I think it’s a joke – but a pretty good one and I like jokes. So – my humans.txt even includes a joke (well, a riddle – but a funny one).
