I love WP dot org. But its sibling WP dot com – I have never understood the appeal. And now I have strong reason to dislike and distrust it. Like so much of the radical left Silicon Valley elite, the People in Charge (PIC) at WP dot com are fundamentally evil and viciously anti-American – and have gone out of their way to prove it.
WP dot org offers WordPress software, along with a plethora of themes and plugins as well as support – all for free. I have to find and pay for my own hosting, but I can use the awesome free stuff without restrictions. WP dot com offers WP hosting. There is a free tier, but it comes with serious limitations – for example, I can’t use my own domain name. Paid plans range from $4 to $45 / month, with a required yearly commitment. By comparison Hostmantis plans start at $1.50 / month, billed monthly so no long-term commitment.
I have not used WP dot com but my understanding is that even the paid plans have limits on the themes and plugins that are allowed.
So, I can’t see a reason to use WP dot com when there are better, cheaper, less restrictive alternatives readily available.
But, that’s just my preference. It is no reason to dislike or distrust the PIC. But attacks on free speech, specifically banning any speech that is counter to the anti-American sensibilities of the radical left elite – yep, that’s plenty of reason to dislike and distrust the PIC at WP dot com. WordPress.com gives Conservative Treehouse the boot – for purportedly issuing calls to violence. The accusation is utterly baseless, as a quick perusal of the totally peaceful Conservative Treehouse site will prove. The accusation strikes a cord with me, as I was blacklisted by google for purportedly advocating racial hatred and violence – also an utterly false accusation.
But once the accusation is made – unless I’m a celebrity or prominent person with a platform to fight back – there is no recourse. The real goal of these evil PIC is to silence any opinion that they – in their viscously evil, anti-American mindset – even slightly disagree with.
